A New York Kinda Love: Day-After Shoot

All photos courtesy of the amazing Angelica Glass, unless otherwise noted. Please note that the photos have only been color-corrected and not fully retouched.

When we booked Angelica, we knew that we definitely wanted a day-after photo shoot. With a large wedding, we knew our time for portraits was limited and what better reason than to get back into the wedding garb and traipse around Brooklyn for an afternoon?

We booked the shoot for about a week after the wedding. We were lucky and got gorgeous and cool weather, despite it still being the height of summer. I got out of work early and the lovely Sachiko Yanase made a house call and did my hair and makeup. I got back into my wedding gown and Mr. Canary got suited up and off we went with Angelica to Empire-Fulton Ferry Park in Dumbo, Brooklyn. We had a blast and the park is still one of our favorite Sunday afternoon spots.

Here is a small collection of the shots from the day:

E008 copyUnder the weeping willowE047This one is one of my favorite shots from the day since it’s really the only photograph that shows a full view of my wedding gown.

E062 So serious!

E065That’s more like it! Mr. Canary and I are always giggling about something together.

E095 Mr. Canary definitely likes to steal kisses whenever possible.

E108 copyAnother favorite from the day: that’s me with my Lynn Kiracofe hair clip and Mr. Canary with another hairpin dueling it out!

E121 I needed a beverage break so I purchased an orange soda and somehow Angelica managed to incorporate into the photos.

E131This was after multiple unsuccessful attempts at spitting my soda to make a big orange spray.

E136 Sadly the mosaic installation is gone, but I love the color contrast in this photo and Mr. Canary’s big smile.

And that hive, ends the Canary saga on Weddingbee. It’s only taken me 2.5 years, so thank you for being patient with this ol’ bee! It’s been so much fun and I’ve been so lucky to make so many great friends that have transitioned to amazing offline friendships. I’ve learned a lot about myself and about blogging and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you for allowing to share my journey with you.

Before I officially say goodbye, I’ve got one more post left in me… can you guess what it is?
