And before the official end of the Canary wedding saga, here’s a repository for details from our wedding that I couldn’t quite find a home for but I loved so much and wanted to share anyway.
Placecard Table
This was one of the items on the floral list that I had considered cutting, but after seeing it in person, so glad I kept!
Our florist made the cavernous entrance inviting with tall centerpieces of branches and flowers and sprinkled river rocks on the table to add to the organic texture.
For place cards, we used mini-envelopes. We opted for envelopes with business cards tucked inside for seating because it would be easy to adjust at the last minute if we had to play around with table configurations. The artful calligraphy was the handiwork of Michele Clark. Michele also addressed our invitations and was another one of my favorite vendors, making the entire process of working with her super easy. We correspond by email and regular mail. She understood exactly what I needed and even helped me out when I had to make a few changes.
The Cardholder
This by far was one of the easiest DIY projects. I ordered the birdcage from Save on Crafts and just spray-painted it antique gold. It looked great surrounded by our bridesmaids’ bouquets and junior bridesmaids’ pomanders.
Our Favors
Unfortunately, I don’t have a photos of these in situ, but believe me, they were one of the things our guests still rave about! At the end of the evening by the exit, there were two long banquet tables lined with plexi-glass towers with all these stunning gold boxes stacked on top. Not only was the packaging great, the inside contained the most delectable cookies and tea. It’s also unfortunate that our vendor, Amai Tea and Bake House, wasn’t able to weather the recession and is no longer operating. They were one of our favorite vendors as well and came up with this custom concept with inspiration from our invitations and wedding colors.
